light sport airplaneThe Horizon was conceived and designed to comply with the new Federal Aviation Administration's rules for Light Sport Aviation (LSA) enthusiasts. The new light sport aviation rules allow experienced airplane manufacturers to design, build, sell and deliver fully completed and tested light sport aircraft within very strict guidelines and performance limitations. The rules require the light sport airplane be limited to two seats (pilot and passenger), the gross takeoff weight cannot exceed 1,320 pounds, the landing gear must be fixed, the propeller must be a fixed pitch, the stalling speed cannot be greater than 51 miles per hour, and the maximum cruising speed may not exceed 138 miles per hour.

At first glance, the design differences between our Horizon and the competition are dramatic. Our design is a pilot-forward design, keeping the wings and propulsion system aft of the pilot thereby eliminating visibility issues common in the traditional "tractor" designs. With the pilot up front, engine to the rear, the "fighter-like" clamshell canopy, and the sleek, graceful swept design, this light sport airplane reminds one of a sexy little sports car.

The side-by-side cockpit seating is ideal for training, rentals, club sharing, commuting, and at our low base price of $99,900, the term "Personal Aircraft©" comes to mind. In fact, it is priced less than some Sport Utility Vehicles, and with the low operating and maintenance costs, one need not feel guilty about enjoying flying for the sheer pleasure of it! The Horizon will be the light sport airplane of choice!
