Sunday, June 29 was an exciting day for us at New Horizons Aircraft, Inc. We began the day by adding the aircraft’s first fuel to determine weights at various fuel levels for center of gravity calculations, and to determine unusable fuel. After a lot of tedious effort, frustrations, and sore knuckles, we finally had the aircraft ready and fully fueled, so we pulled it onto the ramp and fired the engine for the first time. The Jabiru 3300 purred like a kitten! What a beautiful sound and nice reward after so many long months of effort.

We are now getting all the calculations and data completed, as well as the myriad of punch-list items to complete in preparation for our airworthiness inspection. We hope to be able to be ready for the inspection in July, and perhaps even have the maiden flight in July. Soon we hope to have flying photos for you! Keep watching us – we will be the prettiest plane on the ramp soon.
